Job description
Position: Paralegal – SOC 2419
Location: Manchester Business Park Office 347, 3000 Aviator Way, Manchester, United Kingdom, M22 5TG
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Full-Time, between 09:30 and 5pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: £38,750 p/a
Primary responsibilities are:
- Provide administrative support to legal professionals i.e. immigration advisors.
- Investigate and make recommendations on legal immigration matters outside of regular court jurisdiction.
- Develop office workflow and manage immigration workload.
- Decide on immigration cases to accept and arrange fees to be collected through authorized legal channels.
- Prepare financial records and keep records for any invoices, bills, etc.
- Collate information and draft briefs and other legal documents.
- Able to advise clients on immigration matters.
- Undertake preparatory work for submission of immigration cases/applications to UKVI.
Experience
2-3 years in same/similar role required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in law or a related field; or any one of the following:
- NALP Paralegal practice award, certificate or
- diploma, or
- Postgraduate paralegal diploma, or
- An award in legal studies, or
- Legal secretary certificate or diploma
AND
- Candidate must have strong research organizational skills and must stay up-to-date with any changes in UK Immigration law.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and immigration research databases.
- Must be fluent in English
- If applying from outside the UK, must have passed Secure English Language
- Test (SELT) from an approved provider to at least B1 CEFR Scale or above
