QUICK OVERVIEW
Overview
What is the Student Visa?
The Student visa allows you to study at a UK university, college, or other licensed education provider, provided you have an unconditional offer and meet the points-based requirements covering your course, finances, and English language ability.
You will need a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from your licensed education provider, which contains a unique reference number required for your visa application — similar in concept to a Certificate of Sponsorship for work visas.
Most Student visa holders can work part-time during term (typically up to 20 hours per week for higher education students) and full-time during scheduled holidays, subject to their CAS conditions.
We guide you from CAS verification through to financial evidence preparation — one of the most common reasons for refusal — and full application submission.
Eligibility
Do You Qualify?
To apply for the Student Visa, you must meet the following criteria. Our team will assess your situation in a free consultation before any fees are charged.
Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS)
You must have an unconditional offer and CAS reference from a Home Office licensed student sponsor.
Course-Related Points
Your course and sponsor must meet the points criteria — the bulk of the 70 points required come from a valid CAS for an approved course.
Financial Requirement
You must show funds covering your course fees (or remaining balance) plus maintenance costs for up to 9 months, held for the required 28-day period.
English Language Requirement
You must demonstrate English to the level required by your course and sponsor, usually at least B2 for degree-level study.
Academic Progression (if applicable)
If switching from a lower to higher-level course in the UK, you generally need to show academic progression from your previous study.
Genuine Student Intent
You must demonstrate a genuine intention to study, assessed through your academic background, course choice, and career plans.
